Welcome
to the SPARKS 4-H Club Homepage!
SPARKS 4-H Club is one of the newest clubs in
the Carroll County 4-H program. It was formed in June 2006 after there
appeared to be interest in including more technology-related projects in the
4-H program. The SPARKS 4-H Club's primary activity so far has been
robotics. Older members work in teams to build robots for the for our
annual competition at the Carroll County 4-H and FFA Fair. Younger
members have been working with the Lego Mindstorms robotics kits, learning
concepts of mechanics, sensors and programming. The club also has
activities in electronics, solar projects and programming.
Members of the SPARKS 4-H Club actively support the
Carroll Technology Council’s CompuKids program. The club has assisted the
Carroll Technology Council on Compukids Workdays by cleaning and repairing used
computer hardware, and installing software on computers that are then donated
to local needy families and charities.
