Our Story:
Welcome to the website of the Super Sonic Sparks 4-H Robotics Team, from Carroll County, Maryland. Our team formed in August 2007 when members expressed an interest in competing in regional, national and international robotics competitions. We competed in the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) the first year. We expanded our activities to include both FTC and the VEX Robotics Competition (VRC) in 2008-2009 competition season. We were members of the Winning Alliance at the Maryland FTC Championship, and qualified two robots to attend the VEX Robotics World Championships in Dallas. The trip to Dallas was a wonderful way to finish up the competition season. We plan to concentrate on VRC for the 2009-2010 competition season, and set aside our FTC activities.
Team Principles:
Everyone enjoys winning. However we are a team who believes that it is how you play the game and how you treat others that is most important. We enjoy offering a helping hand to competitors, pitching in to help run events, and strive to have fun and enjoy each others’ company regardless of how we are doing on the competition field.
